Our Insulation Services

Blown Cellulose

Cellulose is composed of 75-85% recycled paper fiber, usually post-consumer waste newsprint. The other 15% is a fire retardant such as boric acid or ammonium sulfate.

Cellulose has the highest recycled content of any insulation available.

For example, fiberglass has a maximum amount of 50% recycled content. We typically use cellulose as it is mostly recycled and is considered ECO-Friendly. The installation process and cost are roughly the same for both cellulose and fiberglass.

Blown Fiberglass

Fiberglass loose-fill insulation is made from molten glass spun or blown into fibers that are then processed into the final product. It is an effective insulation and meets the requirements of ASTM C 764 – Mineral Fiber Loose-Fill Thermal Insulation.

Fiberglass loose-fill insulation is inorganic and noncombustible.

We would typically use fiberglass insulation if it is already present or a homeowner requests that we use it.

Air Flow Baffles

Baffles provide a channel for air to flow through certain parts of the attic. Baffles are also called wind baffles, venting chutes, rafter vents or insulation baffles. Typically made from polyvinyl chloride, rigid foam board or cardboard, they can be installed with a few staples.

Baffles are very crucial to the performance of your attic ventilation. We suggest installing these through any open roof soffit rafter in your attic.

Improper or inadequate air circulation can have a detrimental effect on the life of your roof, substrate and eventually lead to moisture that could cause mold to grow.

Roxul Safe & Sound

ROXUL SAFE‘n’SOUND® is a stone wool insulation product for use in interior wall partitions of residential wood and steel stud construction where superior fire resistance and acoustical performance are required.

This non-combustible, lightweight product has excellent acoustical dampening properties and is dimensionally stable which makes it ideal for friction fit into walls, ceiling, and floor applications.

The product is chemically inert; therefore it will not promote corrosion.

Removal & Abatement

There may come a time when you need to remove old insulation from your home. Smoke Damage, Water damage, Vermiculite or beginning a new renovation are all reasons you may need to have old insulation removed. At Alteck Group we do not only specialize in adding insulation to your home, we are also experienced in effectively removing old insulation. We use a high-performance insulation vacuum to remove the insulation in a safe manner, as well as the removal of any contaminants that might be present, placing all material in our removal truck.

Regardless of whether your home has fiberglass batt insulation or a combination of batt insulation and blown-in insulation, our removal procedures can look after any situation.  Our high-powered state of the art insulation removal vacuum is set-up on the outside of your home, where a large volume filter bag is used to obtain the insulation. This procedure is done in an efficient manner, and also prevents the risk of further contamination that could occur from removing insulation in your attic or crawlspace.

Batt Insulation

Batt insulation comes in pre-cut panels and is used to insulate floors, walls, and ceilings. This type of insulation is generally made of fiberglass or rock and slag wool, although there are also natural cotton varieties available for thermal and acoustic installation. Fiberglass batt insulation is one of the most popular forms, as it tends to be fairly inexpensive and easy to install.

If installed properly, this insulation can be effective, energy efficient, and long lasting.

Spray Foam

Spray polyurethane foam (SPF) is a spray-applied plastic that can form a continuous insulation and air sealing barrier on walls, roofs, around corners, and on all contoured surfaces. It is made by mixing and reacting unique liquid components at the job site to create foam.

The liquids react very quickly when mixed, expanding on contact to create foam that insulates, seals gaps, and can form moisture and vapor barriers. SPF insulation is known to resist heat transfer extremely well, and it offers a highly effective solution in reducing unwanted air infiltration through cracks, seams, and joints.

This is by far the best insulator for your home or business.
